CLAM ROAST RECIPE

Ingredients

  • Clams – 500g
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 2 medium (sliced)
  • Green chilies – 2 (slit)
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato – 1 medium (chopped)
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Chicken masala – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Water – as required

Instructions

  1. Clean the clams thoroughly.
  2. Cook the clams with ¾ tsp turmeric powder and salt in a cooker until done. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  4. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Sauté until soft and golden brown.
  5. Add green chilies and ginger garlic paste. Sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  6. Add chopped tomato and cook until it blends well into the mixture.
  7. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, remaining turmeric powder, chicken masala, and pepper powder. Sauté the mixture until the oil separates.
  8. Add the cooked clams to the pan and mix well.
  9. Pour a little water to adjust the consistency as needed.
  10. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the masala coats the clams well and reaches the desired consistency.
  11. Turn off the heat and serve hot with rice or bread.
